Standard 10 in x 2.5 in size. Replace about every 3 months.

CFS string wound water filter cartridges are mechanical replacement filters for BF36, BF6, BF7 and BF9C housings and any standard 10 in x 2.5 in whole house sump. Polypropylene cord is wound over a rigid core and rated 5 micron nominal.

The winding is looser at the outside and tighter toward the center. Coarse grit is captured in the outer layers while finer particles are held deeper in the wall, so the load spreads through the whole cartridge instead of building on one face. That gives the wound style its high dirt holding capacity and steadier flow as it fills.

Fitment: fits BF36, BF6, BF7 and BF9C filter housings, plus any standard 10 in x 2.5 in canister that accepts a 9.75 in cartridge. Same size as CW-F, WP5, W5W, FXWSC and SWC-25-1005 wound cartridges.

Common uses include well water pre-filtration, whole house point-of-entry filtration, softener and pump line duty, and first-stage service ahead of carbon or reverse osmosis equipment.

Service life is typically about 3 months and varies with sediment load, water source and household usage. Replace sooner if flow drops or pressure falls off at the taps.
